TEXAS CHALLENGE 65+ PLAYS IN SAN ANTONIO SENIOR GAMES - BRINGS HOME THE GOLD...AND SILVER

March 30, 2007....The San Antonio Senior Games was another proving
ground for the TEXAS CHALLENGE 65+ 3 on 3 Senior Olympic basketball team. The team traveled to San Antonio over the weekend to play in the San Antonio Senior Games......another step in preparation to compete in the upcoming 2007 Senior Olympics. In the absence of another out of state 65+ team in which to compete, the "mother of invention" prevailed...and the team was split in to two teams allowing us to play, compete and continue to work on our skill level.

After the Arkansas tournament, we learned a great deal from playing other Olympic teams..... and things we need to work on in order to compete on a higher level in Louisville. This was a great opportunity for our team to get to play in real competition. We played two full games against each other. Gold and Silver medals were awarded.

Everyone played hard and walked away from the competition feeling a sense of accomplishment and growth for our team.

INDIVIDUAL COMPETITION - FREE THROW/AROUND THE WORLD: In addition to team competition, there was individual competition for Free Throw and Around the World events. Gold, silver and bronze medals were earned by several of our team members..

Anyone interested in playing women's senior 3 on 3 basketball (age 50 or better) please contact Kay Seamayer - 972.230.4980- kayseamayer@MSN.com .
